CSO unites the various ministries of Auburn Catholic and the general Catholic student community by planning and implementing numerous social activities throughout the year. CSO is the primary Catholic group recognized by Auburn University and is thus the bridge for the ministries of Auburn Catholic to campus. Any college student, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, who wants to grow stronger in their spiritual lives, and is open to the Catholic faith, is welcome to be part of CSO.

The purpose of CSO is to represent all of the student programs of Auburn Catholic, to promote the Catholic faith, and to create a stronger Catholic community among students at Auburn University.

To fulfill its purpose, CSO strives to create awareness of the Catholic faith among students of Auburn University, to provide publicity and outreach at Auburn University for the various programs of Auburn Catholic, to foster a welcoming atmosphere and build community among the students and programs of Auburn Catholic, and to sponsor various special events for the enjoyment and benefit of students at Auburn University.
